By premium tanks you enjoy the play style of and ones use it purely to make extra credits and train crews from your regular tech tree tanks.

It will be easy to get sucked into buying all the broken overpowered premium tanks WG keep releasing but take it from personal experience, in just 12-18 months time they will do this all over again and that prem OP tank is now being blitzed by the latest releases. You can do all this without paying a cent but don't forget that if you have the ability to support the game with buying some things here and there then do as WG is also a business and are constantly developing the game for you which costs money (which direction sometimes i will leave up to everyone's imagination). Taking the time to master this at lower levels will massively reduce the grind once you get past tier 7.

The thing is, the better you get and the more games you win, the more xp and credits you make each battle which allows you to upskill and upgrade tanks much much faster. If you are constantly dying to the bots at this level then you need to work harder and are missing some vital basics such as those listed above.Įdited by Troll_Traktor, 20 August 2021 - 07:52 AM. Tier 4 will avoid most of the higher level players who want to play during the day on ANZ but have no option but to play tier 5 as there is not enough player base to support higher tiers. Get good at tier 4 and then at tier 5 before trying to rush up higher and don't be disheartened at getting your butt kicked by the top 1-3 players who may be driving around in a Pz V/IV. Just ask in forums and I am sure there would be many willing to help new players as I would - we need new blood to keep the future games active for all of us. Find a good clan or some good players who are willing to help you learn the basics. Know when to trade 1 vs 1 and when to retreat, likewise know when to push if you have a number advantage over a tightly held tank position Know where the best positions/routes on a map are for the class of vehicle you are in

Learn how to side scrape your HTs and position them to take advantage of your armour and defelect incoming shots. This is why those who have played lots of CW and Strongholds or even good platoons get so frustrated going solo in randoms and despite coming top on team and deep purple wn8 end up with 30% WR after a session. I succumb to this very often as i expect pubbies to be able to flex with me and take a lead from my push and then I am left stranded when they are stopped like deer in headlights. Don't get too far ahead of your team or go on a solo dash expecting your team to know what you are doing and help out.

When engaging an enemy 1 vs 1 have your tank positioned in such a way that he is the only one who can hit you and that your sides or rear are blocked to other enemy using rocks, buildings or dead tanks etc. ALWAYS be thinking about where the enemy is and constantly scanning the last known positions on your minimap. Know that the T29 has better gun depression and troll turret armour so if you are in an IS for instance you need to go much higher over a crest to hit the T29 and expose your lower plate and to make matters worse you get nothing for it but bounce your shot to their turret - so it was a lose lose situation Know the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy tanks you are against. enemy tanks will have trouble getting you out of position but it is fun in mine when i watch people keep trying to pop up from cover to shoot me, which gives way to

Use the tank to its full potential and ability, ie a T29 is used hull down and abuse its gun depression. Tier 6: LT: AMX 12t or chaffee, MT: Cromwell, T34-85 or Skoda T25, HT: KV-2 or T-150 (KV-85 is also good but lack of gun depression means you need to know the maps well), TD: SU-100 or hellcat/jackson Tier 5: LT: Chaffee or Leo (Elc is good but takes more skill to get used to its handling), MT: T-34, sherman or Pz 4H (HE changes did affect these last 2 a bit), HT: KV1 or BDR, TD: T67 (is OP ut only in good hands) or Wolverine/Stug III for newer players

Tier 4: LT: Luchs, MT: Matilda, HT: they are all garbage, TD: Hetzer Focus on just 1 or 2 classes to start and go for tanks that are still considered top of their tier, so some examples would be: This is a slow progression but new tanks are terrible!!

If you are new then you are probably playing with a <100% crew and are playing tanks with the base modules etc - even i will not play a newly purchase tank until I have unlocked all its modules with free XP. Here are some things good players now do instinctively each game without even thinking because they have lots of games and experience under their belt: Even average players are still massively learning in this game as are we all.
